2011 Leadership Program for Ontario’s Anesthesiologists
Leadership Initiative Information (PDF Format)
Dear Colleague,
We are pleased to announce the Third Annual Fresenius-Kabi / Ontario’s Anesthesiologists Leadership Initiative.
To this end, the Ontario’s Anesthesiologists have secured financial support from Fresenius-Kabi and has gained educational expertise to create a unique “school” to train an interested group with these complex skills. Our goal is to develop an institute in which the theory and practice is customized to the problems faced by us in our work environments.
Dr. Peter Minich is an Ontario physician who has spent the last 12 years researching these issues and training physicians with the leadership skills to truly be effective. He was awarded his PhD with distinction in organizational leadership at Vanderbilt University, and has twice been awarded the Royal College Scholarship in Medical Education. He has written two books on physician leadership and he has worked with physicians world-wide. He is one of the foremost experts in the field. Peter will be building and delivering the curriculum.
A one day retreat on September 10, 2011 will be followed by several monthly group sessions by teleconference.
The tuition will be covered for the selected group of candidates.
Interested members should complete a cover letter outlining your current position, reasons for wanting to participate in a leadership retreat, and how you might utilize these skills in your practice going forward. Please send to admin@ontarioanesthesiologists.ca
Sincerely,
Dr. James Watson – Chair OMA Section on Anesthesiology
Dr. Stephen Brown -Past Chair and Conference Coordinator
